We reported previously that former Poison lead vocalist Bret Michaels has been instructed to take three to four weeks off of performing after undergoing emergency kidney surgery. While Michaels hopes to be back on stage again as soon as possible, that left a lot of venues scrambling to find a suitable act to fill in for the ailing rock star.
So rock band Warrant, with special guests Vixen, are now slated to rock the grandstands at the Indiana State Fair, August 12th. Vixen opens the show beginning at 6:30 pm. The concert is free with a paid admission to the fair, which costs $14. Roast corn and deep-fried Oreos are extra. And sadly, no matter which day you attend the fair, the free beer will be tomorrow.
Warrant lead guitarist Joey Allen recently appeared on the Eddie Trunk “Trunk Nation” show where he discussed the recent boost in popularity Warrant has received after their hit song “Cherry Pie,” was featured prominently in the popular Amazon Prime TV show, “Off Campus.” In Episode 3 of the hit series, actress Ella Bright, who plays Hannah, performed the song at a Karaoke bar. Clips of the scene then went viral, and Spotify and other social media platforms for Warrant subsequently spiked, presumably with newer, younger rock fans, as the TV show’s demographics skew primarilyt toward 20-somethings.
Allen is originally from Indiana, so this show ought to be especially fun for him and his local relatives. Rock on, Brother.
