The Dead Daisies recruit vocalist Kelly Hansen

Former Foreigner Singer Kelly Hansen Joins The Dead Daisies

Vocalist Kelly Hansen spent 20 years as the frontman for Foreigner — the band everyone points to now saying “there’s not a single original member left in this band, so isn’t it just a tribute band now?”But don’t blame that on Hansen. There were still original members in Foreigner when he joined the group back in the early part of this century. And calling it quits on what is certainly a well-oiled, money-making machine probably wasn’t the easiest decision to make.

Now, just shy of a year later, Hansen has announced that he has joined The Dead Dasies. And what’s more, the band has just released a new single featuring Hansen on lead vocals, titled “Lift Me Up.” It’s probably not a surprise that Hansen hooked up with the Australian-American band. More than three decades ago Hansen and Dead Daisies guitarist Doug Aldrich were in the band Hurricane together. So it’s a reunion of sorts for at least the two of them.

Aldrich says fans can expect more than just this one single from the Dead Daisies and their new vocalist Kelly Hansen: “We’re working on more cool music for the album right now,” he explained. “I’m excited about where it’s heading. It’s also gonna be amazing to be onstage with Kelly again after all these years! His vocal range is exceptional and he’s a badass frontman. Can’t wait to get out there and see you all in 2027!!”
