Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp, in which regular Joes (or Jills) can perform and hang out with celebrated rock stars, will invade New York City October 22 to 25, 2026. Featured performers (who attendees get to play with) include Dave Davies of The Kinks, Billy Joel’s long-time drummer Liberty Devitto. Simon Townshend of the Who (and brother of Pete), and Amy Helm (daughter of Levon Helm) of the Band.
In addition to the above-named, the attendees of Rock Camp spend several days rehearsing with celebrity “Camp Counselors,” including Vinny Appice of Black Sabbath, Dio, Last in Line, and Sabbath Knights; Joel Hoekstra of Whitesnake and Trans Siberian Orchestra; Britt Lightning of Vixen; Derek St. Holmes of Ted Nugent’s band; Jimmy Vivino, guitarist of Conan O’Briens TV show band, Veronica Bellino of Life of Agony; Mark Clarke of Billy Squier’s band; Larry Dakes of Foreigner; and Jeff Slate of Mindless Thinkers, among others.
Campers typically spend four to eight hours each of the four days rehearsing with their counselor — which is itself a pretty damn cool opportunity. There are plenty of stories told and rock ‘n’ roll insight shared, not to mention hours of serious musical direction given by high-level and even celebrity Counselors as “Campers” work on a specific song they are going to perform with the “Headliners,” such as Dave Davies or Liberty Devitto. Each day after rehearsal there are counselor jam sessions, group dinners and get-togethers, and a whole lotta camaraderie between both the Campers and the Counselors. A good time will be had by all.
Rock Camp was founded by music industry veteran David Fishof. Fishof has conducted dozens and dozens of Rock Camps during the past 30 years. Camps regularly take place in New York City, Los Angeles, and other locales.
